Tesamorelin 10 mg — Lyophilized Vial 10 mg · 1 vial
For laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is Tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, or GHRH. It stimulates the pituitary growth-hormone axis rather than supplying growth hormone directly.
Biological activity
By acting through the GHRH pathway, tesamorelin can increase growth-hormone secretion and downstream IGF-1 signaling. Research examines how that endocrine response relates to changes in visceral adipose tissue, the fat located around abdominal organs.
Purpose and areas of study
It has been studied in randomized human trials involving abdominal fat accumulation in people with HIV. Those studies evaluated visceral fat and related metabolic measures. The purpose is more specific than general weight loss: researchers distinguish visceral fat from subcutaneous fat beneath the skin.
Evidence context
Clinical findings concern specific formulations and participant populations. They should not be generalized to universal weight-loss benefits or to this vial.
