Melanotan II 10 mg — Lyophilized Vial 10 mg · 1 vial
For laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is Melanotan II?
Melanotan II, also known as MT-2, is a synthetic cyclic peptide that acts on melanocortin receptors. It is distinct from PT-141 even though the two compounds are related.
Biological activity
Melanocortin signaling includes pathways that regulate pigment production. Because melanotan II is not selective for only one receptor subtype, its biological effects are broader than skin pigmentation alone.
Purpose and areas of study
Its research areas include melanogenesis, the process of producing melanin, and melanocortin-receptor responses. A small early human study measured pigmentation changes as part of exploratory phase 1 research.
Evidence context
Early pigmentation findings do not establish a safe tanning method, protection from sunlight or clinical suitability of this vial.
Product presentation
One lyophilized vial. Labeled content: 10 mg.
