IGF-1 LR3 1 mg — Lyophilized Vial 1 mg · 1 vial
For laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is IGF-1 LR3?
IGF-1 LR3, or Long R3 IGF-1, is a modified analog of insulin-like growth factor 1. It is designed to interact differently with IGF-binding proteins while retaining activity at the IGF signaling system.
Biological activity
Reduced binding to some IGF-binding proteins can change how much analog is available to act on cells. Experiments have examined receptor activity, protein synthesis and proliferation. These findings should not be simplified into a universal potency multiplier or a fixed human duration of action.
Purpose and areas of study
Researchers use the analog to distinguish direct IGF-receptor signaling from the effects of binding proteins in cell-growth and metabolism experiments. It is relevant to studies of how growth factors regulate cellular responses.
Evidence context
Cell and animal findings do not establish a human muscle-building treatment or a universal potency multiplier.
