Glutathione 500 mg — Lyophilized Vial 500 mg · 1 vial
For laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is Glutathione?
Glutathione is a three-amino-acid molecule made from glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Its reduced form, GSH, is an important part of intracellular antioxidant and redox systems.
Biological activity
The glutathione redox cycle helps cells handle peroxides and maintain the chemical state of cellular proteins. Oxidized glutathione can be recycled back to GSH by glutathione reductase. These are cellular biochemical functions rather than proof of a general detoxification benefit from a vial.
Purpose and areas of study
Researchers use glutathione-related experiments to examine oxidative stress, cell injury and antioxidant defenses. Cell-culture work has tested how disrupting the glutathione cycle changes susceptibility to hydrogen-peroxide injury.
Evidence context
An established cellular antioxidant role does not establish detoxification, skin or disease-treatment benefits from this presentation. Confirm the supplied chemical form.
