Bremelanotide 10 mg — Lyophilized Vial 10 mg · 1 vial
For laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is Bremelanotide?
Bremelanotide, also known as PT-141, is a synthetic cyclic peptide that acts on melanocortin receptors. Its research relevance centers on central nervous system pathways involved in sexual desire and arousal.
Biological activity
Melanocortin receptor activation influences neural signaling rather than simply increasing blood flow. For that reason, bremelanotide is pharmacologically different from medicines whose primary action is inhibition of the PDE5 enzyme.
Purpose and areas of study
Clinical research has examined sexual desire and associated distress in premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder. Two randomized phase 3 trials evaluated a defined bremelanotide formulation in that specific population.
Evidence context
Clinical evidence concerns a specific formulation and participant group; it does not establish a universal effect or validate this research vial.
Product presentation
One lyophilized vial. Labeled content: 10 mg.
