Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide 500 mg — Lyophilized Vial 500 mg · 1 vial
For laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.
What is Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide?
NAD+ is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide in its oxidized form. It is a coenzyme, not a peptide, and is fundamental to cellular metabolism.
Biological activity
NAD+ and NADH participate in electron-transfer reactions that support energy metabolism. NAD+ is also consumed by enzymes involved in cellular signaling and maintenance. A change in a tissue's NAD+ level is not the same as a proven change in whole-body energy or aging.
Purpose and areas of study
Researchers examine NAD+ concentrations, turnover and metabolic flux in cells and tissues. Studies in mice have investigated how NAD metabolism changes with age and how synthesis and consumption maintain the available pool.
Evidence context
Research on NAD metabolism and precursors does not establish that this vial reverses aging or improves whole-body energy.
Product presentation
